Wildfires continue in California
140 tankers and helicopters are dropping hundreds of thousands of pounds of water and flame retardants. Firefighters in the air and on the ground are taking full advantage of high humidity and cool temperature.
24 major wildfires are still raging and the work is far from over. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said that the personnel and resources are stretched to the breaking point and firefighters are exhausted. There are current 24 thousand firefighters working in the area, but the job to extinguish the fire is not expected to end any time soon.
