U.S. Facing Multiple Crane Collapses



Officials in New York City held an emergency meeting to discuss the crane collapse at the MGM Mirage that left two workers dead on Friday. The crane accident was the second fatal crane accident since March. The constant crane accidents set off new concerns in construction sites safety. Many people are blaming the housing boom.

“Too many New Yorkers find themselves worried that the construction boom in New York is endangering their safety” Said Scott Stringer, Manhattan Borough President

Cities like New York, Las Vegas and Miami are experiencing a boom, despite the housing sales slump, new constructions is up in major cities by 9%, as a result cranes are short of operators, especially qualified ones.
