Cuba’s Biggest Move Towards Democracy

Cuba took another step to end communism. Raul Castro´s new wage policy will end the Fidel Castro’s creaky egalitarian model. Wages will be now based on production and not everyone will earn the same. A Communist Party newspaper, Granma, published yesterday that it is unfair to give a worker less than he deserves and equally unfair to give to a worker that doesn’t deserve.

The average salary in Cuba is only 12 Euros, being equal to all, from laborers to surgeons. The new reform will give people a $17 monthly salary plus extra payment based on production, which will be an incentive for workers to produce better and earn more money.
